Fiberglass Batt Insulation
Insulation is an important part of your home's construction and essential for keeping your home as quiet, comfortable and energy efficient as possible. Fiberglass batt insulation is most commonly comes to mind when people think of insulation. It is the most widely used home insulator, and is also used to reduce noise transfer from room to room. Fiberglass batts can be installed in attics and open-cavity walls like new construction or remodeling. Fiberglass insulation is composed primarily of natural ingredients such as sand and recycled glass products that are melted and spun to create tiny strands of fiberglass. Batt insulation requires the use of a polyethylene air/vapour barrier on the inside for control of air and moisture movement. When properly installed within the building envelopes wood framing (i.e. 2” x 6”), fiber glass batts, combined with a well sealed air/vapour barrier will meet the standards developed by Energuide for a ‘typical new home’, up to an ‘energy efficient new home’.
Advantages of MaximumPoly:
